Ιουνίου, ο Σεβασμιώτατος παρέστη προσευχητικώς στους γάμους του ζεύγους
Στεργίου Σχοινά και Clara
Gebriela Hervas Lezcano στον
Καθεδρικό Ναό της Σεβίλλης όπου και είχε αδελφική συνάντηση με τον Don Enrique Figaredo Alvarogonzalez, Ρ/Κ ιεραπόστολο επίσκοπο στην ΝΑ Ασία, εκ
μητρός θείου του κου Σχοινά.
Ο Σεβασμιώτατος
Ποιμενάρχης μας την 15η Αυγούστου, εορτή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου,
τέλεσε κατά την τάξη την Θεία Λειτουργία στον Καθεδρικό Ναό της Μαδρίτης.
Ακολούθως, ο
Σεβασμιώτατος μετέβη για πρώτη φορά στο ακρότατο όριο της Μητρόπολής μας, την
νήσο Terceira του συμπλέγματος των
Αζορών στην μέση του Ατλαντικού ωκεανού με αφορμή την παρουσία ομάδος Ελλήνων
χορευτών από την Θεσσαλονίκη στο πλαίσιο του φεστιβάλ Folk Azores η
οποία και με αφορμή την εορτή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου ζήτησε να
εκκλησιαστεί.
Ο Σεβασμιώτατος κατόπιν συνεννοήσεως με τον Εξ. Ρ/Κ επίσκοπο της Angra, Dom Armando
Esteves Domingues, την 18η Αυγούστου τέλεσε την Θεία
Λειτουργία, στον παραχωρηθέντα για τον σκοπό, ναό της
Θεοτόκου (Igreja de Misericórdia) μέσα σε συγκινησιακά φορτισμένο κλίμα.
Κατά αυτόν το τρόπο εδόθη η λιτή και αρχοντική μαρτυρία της Ορθοδόξου παρουσίας
στην περιοχή μέσω της Θείας Λειτουργίας.
Στις 07 Σεπτεμβρίου τέλεσε
την Θεία Λειτουργία στην πόλη της Καρθαγένης στην εκεί ορθόδοξο ουκρανική
ενορία του Γενεσίου της Θεοτόκου και την επομένη 08 Σεπτεμβρίου επισκέφτηκε εθιμοτυπικά
στην Μούρθια τον Εξ. Ρ/Κ επίσκοπο της Καρθαγένης don José Manuel Lorca
Planes.
Ο Σεβασμιώτατος είχε την
τιμή να είναι μέλος της Πατριαρχικής Συνοδείας κατά την διάρκεια της ιστορικής
επίσημης επίσκεψης της Α.Θ.Π. του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχου Βαρθολομαίου στο κράτος
της Λετονίας (11-13/09)
Επιστρέψας στην έδρα
Του, μετέβη στην Βαρκελώνη όπου την 14η Σεπτεμβρίου τέλεσε στην εκεί
ενορία του Αγίου Νεκταρίου την Θεία Λειτουργία επί τη εορτή της Υψώσεως του
Τιμίου Σταυρού, όπως και την επομένη 15η μνήμη του Αγίου Βησσαρίωνος
αρχιεπισκόπου Λαρίσης, ημέρα που άγει τα ονομαστήριά Του.
Την 3η
Οκτωβρίου ο Ποιμενάρχης μας, παρέστη προσευχητικώς στην επιμνημόσυνο τελετή που
έλαβε χώρα στην Κρύπτη του Καθεδρικού Ναού Santa Maria de la Real de Almudena της Μαδρίτης με αφορμή τον αιφνίδιο θάνατο του
Ρ/Κ βοηθού επισκόπου της αρχιεπισκοπής Μαδρίτης José Antonio Álvarez Sánchez.
Την 12η
Οκτωβρίου, ημέρα της Εθνικής Εορτής της Ισπανίας, μετέβη στα Βασιλικά Ανάκτορα,
όπου προσκεκλημένος των ΑΑΜΜ των βασιλέων παρέστη στην επίσημη δεξίωση, ενώ
παράλληλα είχε εποικοδομητικές συναντήσεις με τις αρχές και φορείς της χώρας
για θέματα αφορόντα την Ορθόδοξο παρουσία την Ισπανία.
Την 15η,
προσκεκλημένος του καθ. Χ. Παπούλια, έδωσε διάλεξη στους μεταπτυχιακούς
φοιτητές της Φιλοσοφικής Σχολής του ιστορικού πανεπιστημίου Complutense της
Μαδρίτης με θέμα τον Ησυχασμό και την Νηπτική θεολογία των Πατέρων της
Εκκλησίας. Μετά την διάλεξη ακολούθησε εποικοδομητικός διάλογος με τους
φοιτητές και τους διδάσκοντες.
Στις 18, τέλεσε την
βάπτιση της μικρής Χριστίνας, θυγατρός του ζεύγους των Ελλήνων επιστημόνων
Ιωάννου Μυσερλή και Χαρίκλειας Καζίλα, μονίμων κατοίκων Γρανάδας, στον ιστορικό
και εμβληματικό ναό του Αγίου Νικολάου, κατόπιν αδελφικής αδείας του τοπικού
ΡΚαθολικού επισκόπου.
Την 19η
Οκτωβρίου, ο Σεβασμιώτατος τέλεσε την Θεία Λειτουργία στην Ορθόδοξο ενορία του
Αλικάντε. Στο πλαίσιο της εκεί ποιμαντικής Του παρουσίας, παρέστη και ομίλησε
κατάλληλα στην εκδήλωση για την 20ετή παρουσία της Ελληνικής κοινότητας στην
πόλη.
Την 23η
παρέστη προσευχητικώς στην τελεσθείσα επικήδειο Θεία Λειτουργία του Ρ/Κ βοηθού
επισκόπου της Αρχιεπισκοπής Μαδρίτης José Antonio Álvarez Sánchez που έλαβε χώρα στον Ρ/Κ
Καθεδρικό Ναό της Μαδρίτης.
Την 26η
Οκτωβρίου. Μνήμη του Αγίου Μεγαλομάρτυρος Δημητρίου του Μυροβλήτου, τέλεσε την
Θεία Λειτουργία στον πανηγυρίζοντα Ιερό Καθεδρικό Ναό της Μαδρίτης και στην
συνέχεια χοροστάτησε στην Δοξολογία για την Εθνική Εορτή της Ελλάδος παρουσία
των Διπλωματικών και Στρατιωτικών αρχών Ελλάδος και Κύπρου. Ακολούθως μετέβη στην
Πρεσβεία της Ελλάδος όπου και παρακολούθησε την επετειακή εκδήλωση που
διοργανώθηκε από το ελληνικό σχολείο της Μαδρίτης (ΤΕΓ) και καμάρωσε με τους
γονείς την παρουσία και την φρεσκάδα των μικρών Ελλήνων μαθητών.

Activities of His Eminence
June–October 2025
On June 23, His Eminence attended in prayer the wedding of Stergios Schoinas and Clara Gebriela Hervas Lezcano
at the Cathedral of Seville,
where he also had a fraternal meeting with Don
Enrique Figaredo Alvarogonzalez, Roman Catholic missionary
bishop in Southeast Asia and maternal uncle of Mr. Schoinas.
On August 15, the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy according to
the order of the Church at the Cathedral
of Madrid.
Subsequently, His Eminence
traveled for the first time to the farthest boundary of our Metropolis, the island of Terceira in the Azores archipelago in the
middle of the Atlantic Ocean, on the occasion of a visit by a group of Greek
dancers from Thessaloniki participating in the Folk Azores Festival. Taking advantage of the Feast of
the Dormition, the group requested to attend an Orthodox service.
Following coordination with the
local Roman Catholic Bishop of Angra,
Dom Armando Esteves Domingues,
on August 18 His
Eminence celebrated the Divine
Liturgy in the Church
of the Theotokos (Igreja de Misericórdia), which had been made
available for this purpose, in a deeply moving and spiritual atmosphere.
In this way, a humble yet dignified witness
of Orthodox presence in the region was offered through the
Divine Liturgy.
On September 7, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the city of
Cartagena at the
local Orthodox Ukrainian parish of the
Nativity of the Theotokos, and on the following day, September 8, he paid a courtesy visit in Murcia to the local Roman
Catholic Bishop of Cartagena, Don
José Manuel Lorca Planes.
His Eminence had the honor of
being a member of the Patriarchal
Entourage during the historic
official visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the Republic of Latvia (September
11–13).
Upon returning to his See, he
traveled to Barcelona,
where on September 14 he
celebrated the Divine Liturgy
at the Parish of Saint Nektarios
for the Feast of the Exaltation of the
Holy Cross, as well as on the following day, September 15, the Feast of Saint Bessarion, Archbishop of
Larissa, the day on which His Eminence celebrates his name day.
On October 3, our Shepherd prayerfully attended the memorial service held in the Crypt of the Cathedral of Santa María la Real
de la Almudena in Madrid on the occasion of the sudden passing of the Roman Catholic Auxiliary Bishop of the
Archdiocese of Madrid, José
Antonio Álvarez Sánchez.
On October 12, Spain’s
National Day, His Eminence attended the official reception at the Royal Palace, as a guest of
Their Majesties the King and Queen, and also held constructive meetings with national authorities and
representatives regarding matters related to the Orthodox presence in Spain.
On October 15, at the invitation of Professor Η. Papoulias, His Eminence delivered a lecture to the postgraduate students of the Faculty of
Philosophy at the historic Complutense University of Madrid on the topic of Hesychasm and the Neptic Theology of the
Church Fathers. Following the lecture, there was a fruitful
discussion with the students and faculty members.
The following day, October 16, in the context of
promoting inter-Christian dialogue,
and at the invitation of the Director
of the Private Office of the Archbishop of Madrid, His Eminence
met with the seminarians of the
Roman Catholic Seminary of the Archdiocese of Madrid, where he
spoke on the Theology of the Eastern
Fathers and the Orthodox
witness in the Iberian Peninsula, followed by a discussion and
a shared meal at the seminary.
On October 18, His Eminence celebrated the Baptism of little Christina,
daughter of the Greek scientists Ioannis
Myserlis and Charikleia
Kazila, permanent residents of Granada, at the historic and emblematic Church of Saint Nicholas,
with the fraternal permission of the local Roman Catholic Bishop.
On October 19, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Orthodox parish of Alicante.
As part of his pastoral visit there, he attended and delivered an appropriate
address at the celebration marking the
20th anniversary of the Greek
community’s presence in the city.
On October 23, he prayerfully attended the funeral Divine Liturgy for
the Roman Catholic Auxiliary Bishop
of Madrid, José
Antonio Álvarez Sánchez, which took place at the Cathedral of Madrid.
On October 26, the Feast of Saint Demetrios the Myrrh-streamer,
His Eminence celebrated the Divine
Liturgy at the Cathedral
of Madrid, and afterward presided over the Doxology for the National Day of Greece,
attended by the diplomatic and military
authorities of Greece
and Cyprus.
Following this, he went to the Embassy
of Greece, where he attended the commemorative event organized by the Greek School of Madrid (G.L.D.),
rejoicing together with the parents at the performance and freshness of the
young Greek students.

El 23
de junio, Su Eminencia asistió en oración a la boda de Stergios Schoinas y Clara Gebriela
Hervas Lezcano en la Catedral
de Sevilla, donde también mantuvo un encuentro fraternal con Don Enrique Figaredo Alvarogonzalez, obispo misionero
católico romano en el sudeste asiático y tío materno del señor Schoinas.
El 15 de agosto, con motivo de la Festividad de la Dormición de la Santísima Virgen María,
Su Eminencia celebró la Divina
Liturgia según el orden de la Iglesia en la Catedral de Madrid.
Posteriormente, Su Eminencia viajó
por primera vez al límite más occidental
de nuestra Metrópolis, la isla
Terceira en el archipiélago
de las Azores, en medio del océano Atlántico, con motivo de la
participación de un grupo de bailarines
griegos de Tesalónica en el festival Folk Azores. Con ocasión de la fiesta de la
Dormición, el grupo solicitó asistir a la celebración de la Divina Liturgia.
Tras la coordinación con el obispo
católico romano de Angra,

Su Eminencia celebró la Divina
Liturgia el 18
de agosto en la Iglesia
de la Misericordia (Igreja de Misericórdia), que fue cedida
para tal fin, en un ambiente profundamente emotivo.
De esta manera se ofreció un testimonio
sobrio y digno de la presencia ortodoxa en la región a través
de la celebración de la Divina Liturgia.
El 7 de septiembre, Su Eminencia celebró la Divina Liturgia en la ciudad
de Cartagena, en la parroquia ortodoxa ucraniana de la Natividad
de la Virgen María, y al día siguiente, el 8 de septiembre, realizó una visita de cortesía en Murcia al obispo católico
romano de Cartagena, Don
José Manuel Lorca Planes.
Su Eminencia tuvo el honor de
formar parte de la comitiva
patriarcal durante la histórica
visita oficial de Su Santidad el Patriarca Ecuménico Bartolomé al Estado de Letonia (del 11 al 13 de septiembre).
Tras regresar a su sede, se
desplazó a Barcelona, donde
el 14 de septiembre celebró
la Divina Liturgia
en la parroquia de San Nectario
con motivo de la Fiesta de la Exaltación
de la Santa Cruz, así como al día siguiente, 15 de septiembre, en la conmemoración de San Bessarión, arzobispo de
Larisa, día en que Su Eminencia celebra su onomástica.
El 3 de octubre, nuestro Pastor asistió en oración a la ceremonia memorial celebrada
en la Cripta de la Catedral de Santa
María la Real de la Almudena de Madrid con motivo del fallecimiento repentino del obispo auxiliar católico romano de la archidiócesis
de Madrid, José
Antonio Álvarez Sánchez.
El 12 de octubre, Fiesta
Nacional de España, Su Eminencia asistió a la recepción oficial en el Palacio Real,
invitado por Sus Majestades los Reyes, y mantuvo encuentros fructíferos con las autoridades y
representantes del país sobre cuestiones relativas a la presencia ortodoxa en España.
El 15 de octubre, invitado por el profesor Η. Papoulias, Su Eminencia impartió una conferencia a los estudiantes de posgrado de la Facultad de
Filosofía de la histórica Universidad Complutense de Madrid sobre el tema “El hesicasmo y la teología neptica de los
Padres de la Iglesia”. Tras la conferencia, se desarrolló un
diálogo constructivo con los estudiantes y docentes.
Al día siguiente, el 16 de octubre, en el marco del
fomento del diálogo
intercristiano, y por invitación del director de la secretatia del arzobispo de Madrid, Su
Eminencia se reunió con los seminaristas
del Seminario Católico Romano de la archidiócesis de Madrid,
donde habló sobre la teología de los
Padres Orientales y el testimonio
ortodoxo en la Península Ibérica, seguido de un diálogo y un
almuerzo en las instalaciones del seminario.
El 18 de octubre, Su Eminencia celebró el bautismo de la pequeña Cristina,
hija de los científicos griegos Ioannis
Myserlis y Charikleia Kazila, residentes en Granada, en la histórica y emblemática iglesia de San
Nicolás, con la fraternal autorización del obispo católico
local.
El 19 de octubre, Su Eminencia celebró la Divina Liturgia en la parroquia ortodoxa de Alicante.
En el marco de su visita pastoral, asistió y pronunció unas palabras en la celebración del 20º aniversario
de la presencia de la comunidad griega
en la ciudad.
El 23 de octubre, asistió en oración a la Divina Liturgia fúnebre por
el católico romano obispo auxiliar de
Madrid, José
Antonio Álvarez Sánchez, que tuvo lugar en la Catedral de Madrid.
El 26 de octubre, fiesta de San Demetrio el Miroblita,
Su Eminencia celebró la Divina
Liturgia en la Catedral
de Madrid y posteriormente presidió el Doxologia con motivo de la Fiesta Nacional de Grecia, en
presencia de las autoridades
diplomáticas y militares de Grecia y Chipre.
Seguidamente, se dirigió a la Embajada
de Grecia, donde asistió al acto conmemorativo organizado por la Escuela Griega de Madrid (D.L.G.),
compartiendo la alegría de los padres ante la actuación y vitalidad de los
jóvenes estudiantes griegos.
