Οι Ορθοδόξοι επίσκοποι σε Ισπανία και Πορτογαλία αναπέμπουν προσευχητικές δεήσεις προς τον Οικτίρμονα και Ελεήμονα Θεό ώστε να αναπαύσει τις ψυχές των θυμάτων της άδικης αιματηρής τρομοκρατικής επίθεσης στον Ορθόδοξο ναό του Προφήτου Ηλιού στην Δαμασκό και να υπενθυμίσουν την φωνή του Προδρόμου, του οποίου την γέννηση εορτάζει σήμερα σύμπας ο χριστιανικός κόσμος, Μετανοείτε! Η λέξη μετάνοια έχει να κάνει με την αλλαγή τρόπου σκέψης, πράξης και στάσης ζωής του καθενός μας και απευθύνεται σε όλη την ανθρωπότητα. Όπως ακριβώς και ο Πρόδρομος απηύθυνε το «Μετανοείτε» σε όλους τους ανθρώπους.

Τα μαύρα σύννεφα των αιματηρών πολέμων οι οποίοι  επεκτείνονται πλέον σε πολλές περιοχές του κόσμου (Ουκρανία, Παλαιστίνη, Ισραήλ, Ιράν κτλ) κρούουν τον κώδωνα του κινδύνου για μια γενικευμένη παγκόσμια σύρραξη.

Μη γενοιτο!  Ίλεως ημίν Κύριε!  Μη γένοιτο! Δος ημίν την σην ειρήνην!

Los Obispos Ortodoxos de España y Portugal están enviando plegarias al Dios Misericordioso y Compasivo para que haga descansar las almas de las víctimas del injusto y sangriento atentado terrorista contra la Iglesia Ortodoxa del Profeta Elías en Damasco y recuerdan la voz del Bautista, cuyo nacimiento celebra hoy el mundo cristiano: ¡Arrepentíos! La palabra arrepentimiento tiene que ver con un cambio de pensamiento, de acción y de actitud de vida para cada uno de nosotros y se dirige a toda la humanidad. Así como el Bautista dirigió «Arrepentíos» a todos los hombres.

Las nubes negras de guerras sangrientas que se extienden ahora por muchas regiones del mundo (Ucrania, Palestina, Israel, Irán, etc.) hacen sonar la alarma de un conflicto mundial generalizado.

¡Que no suceda!  ¡Ten piedad de nosotros, Señor!  ¡Que no suceda! ¡Concédenos tu paz!

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ORTHODOX BISHOPS
IN SPAIN AND PORTUGAL

The Orthodox Bishops in Spain and Portugal are sending out prayerful supplications to the Merciful and Merciful God to rest the souls of the victims of the unjust bloody terrorist attack on the Orthodox Church of the Prophet Elijah in Damascus and to recall the voice of the Baptist, whose birth the Christian world is celebrating today, Repent! The word repentance has to do with a change of thought, action and attitude of life for each of us and is addressed to all humanity. Just as the Baptist addressed ‘Repent’ to all people.

Νίκαια 325-2025 Ανάμνηση Α' Οικουμενικής Συνόδου | Nicea 325-2025 Conmemoración del Primer Concilio Ecuménico | Nicea 325-2025 Commemoration of the First Ecumenical Council

Ως γνωστόν η ανά την Οικουμένη χριστιανοσύνη και ιδιαίτερα η Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία, η Ρωμαιοκαθολική Εκκλησία, η Αγγλικανική Κοινωνία εορτάζουν την επέτειο των 1700 χρόνων από την σύγκλιση της Α’ Οικουμενικής Συνόδου στην Νίκαια. Στο πλαίσιο αυτής της επετείου στην Ισπανία αλλά και στην Πορτογαλία διάφορες Ρωμαιοκαθολικές επισκοπές  διοργανώνουν λατρευτικές συνάξεις ή και συνέδρια.

Στην Ρ/Κ επισκοπή της Κόρδοβας, από τις 10 έως τις 13 Ιουνίου, διοργανώθηκε επιστημονικό συνέδριο με τίτλο «Σύμβολο: Το φως της Νικαίας» με επίκεντρο την προσωπικότητα του Οσίου Κορδούης καθώς και οικουμενική λατρευτική σύναξη που έλαβε χώρα στον περίφημο καθεδρικό ναό της Κόρδοβας την 13^η Ιουνίου.

Την Ορθόδοξο Εκκλησία εκπροσώπησε το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο και τις Μεταρρυθμισμένες Εκκλησιές η Αγγλικανική Κοινωνία και η Ευαγγελική Εκκλησία ενώ υπήρξε και η παρουσία των εκπροσώπων των Ορθοδόξων Πατριαρχείων Μόσχας και Ρουμανίας.

Ο Σεβασμιώτατος ποιμενάρχης μας έλαβε μέρος στην οικουμενική λατρευτική αυτή σύναξη κατά την οποία προσέφερε ως δώρο και ευλογία της Μητροπόλεώς μας στον καθεδρικό ναό της Κόρδοβας αγιογραφημένη εικόνα του Αγίου Οσίου, επισκόπου Κορδούης, έργο του αγιογράφου Andrii Babotenko.

Στο τέλος της ακολουθίας, ο Σεβασμιώτατος, ομίλησε κατά προτροπή του Σεβ. Demetrio Fernández και μετέφερε την ευλογία και την αγάπη του Παναγιωτάτου Οικουμενικού μας Πατριάρχου κ. Βαρθολομαίου και αναφέρθηκε στον Όσιο Κορδούης ως καρπό και άνθος του Αγίου Πνεύματος.

Της συνάξεως προέστη ο επίτιμος επίσκοπος Κόρβοδας Demetrio Fernández, του επισκόπου Κόρδοβας Jesús Fernández González απουσιάζοντος λόγω του αιφνιδίου θανάτου του πατρός του, το πρωί εκείνης της ημέρας. 

Εν συνεχεία ο Σεβασμιώτατος, το Σάββατο 14 Ιουνίου μετέβη στην Λισσαβώνα κατόπιν προσκλήσεως του Αγγλικανού επισκόπου Jorge Pina Cabral, προκαθημένου της Λουσιτανικής Εκκλησίας (Αγγλικανική Κοινωνία) και προέδρου του Συμβουλίου Χριστιανικών Εκκλησιών Πορτογαλίας, ώστε να συμμετάσχει στις προαναφερθείσες εκδηλώσεις για την Σύνοδο της Νικαίας στον καθεδρικό Ναό του Αποστόλου Παύλου.

Ο Σεβασμιώτατος μαζί με τον Ρ/Κ Πατριάρχη Λισσαβώνας Rui I και λοιπών άλλων χριστιανικών ομολογιών, συμπεριλαμβανομένων και των Ορθοδόξων εκπροσώπων των Πατριαρχείων Μόσχας και Ρουμανίας, συμμετείχαν στην προσευχή κατά την διάρκεια της οποίας τον κεντρικό λόγο είχε ο Πατριάρχης Λισσαβώνος και τον καταληκτήριο λόγο ο Σεβασμιώτατος Ποιμενάρχης μας αναφερθείς στην σημειολογία της Συνόδου, της Μαρτυρίας και του Φωτός του Χριστού.

Επίσης αναφέρθηκε εκτενώς στην προσωπικότητα του Οσίου επισκόπου Κορδούης ως Αγίου της Ιβηρικής χερσονήσου ο οποίος απετέλεσε βασική μορφή της Συνόδου της Νικαίας.

Como es bien sabido, el cristianismo de todo el mundo, y especialmente la Iglesia Ortodoxa, la Iglesia Católica Romana y la Comunión Anglicana, celebran el 1700 aniversario del Primer Concilio Ecuménico de Nicea. En el contexto de este aniversario, en España y Portugal, varias diócesis católicas romanas organizan encuentros y conferencias de devoción.

En la diócesis católica romana de Córdoba, del 10 al 13 de junio, se celebró una conferencia científica titulada "Símbolo: La Luz de Nicea", centrada en la personalidad de Osios de Córdoba, y un encuentro ecuménico de culto celebrado en la célebre Catedral de Córdoba el 13 de junio.

La celebración estuvo presidida por el Obispo emérito de Córdoba, Demetrio Fernández, estando ausente el Obispo de Córdoba Jesús Fernández González debido al repentino fallecimiento de su padre en la mañana de ese día. 

La Iglesia Ortodoxa estuvo representada por el Patriarcado Ecuménico y las Iglesias Reformadas por la Comunión Anglicana y la Iglesia Evangélica, mientras que también estuvieron presentes representantes de los Patriarcados Ortodoxos de Moscú y Rumanía.

Su Eminencia, Nuestro Reverendísimo Pastor participó en este encuentro ecuménico de culto durante el cual ofreció como regalo y bendición de nuestra Metrópolis a la Catedral de Córdoba un icono pintado del Santo Osios, Obispo de Córdoba, obra del hagiógrafo Andrii Babotenko.

Al final del oficio, Su Eminencia tomó la palabra a instancias de Monseñor Demetrio Fernández y transmitió la bendición y el amor de Su Toda Santidad el Patriarca Ecuménico Bartolomé y se refirió a San Osios de Córdoba como fruto y flor del Espíritu Santo.

A continuación, el sábado 14 de junio, Su Eminencia se desplazó a Lisboa, invitado por el obispo anglicano Jorge Pina Cabral, Primado de la Iglesia Lusitana (Comunión Anglicana) y Presidente del Consejo de Iglesias Cristianas de Portugal, para participar en los actos del Concilio de Nicea, ya mencionados, en la catedral lusitana de San Pablo.

Su Eminencia, junto con el R/C Patriarca de Lisboa D. Rui I y otras confesiones cristianas, incluidos los representantes ortodoxos de los Patriarcados de Moscú y Rumanía, participó en la oración durante la cual el Patriarca de Lisboa pronunció el discurso principal y Su Eminencia, Nuestro Reverendísimo Obispo, pronunció el discurso de clausura, refiriéndose a la semiótica del Concilio, el Martirio y la Luz de Cristo.

También se refirió ampliamente a la personalidad de Osios Obispo de Córdoba como santo de la Península Ibérica que fue figura clave del Concilio de Nicea.

As is well known, Christianity throughout the world and especially the Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion are celebrating the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea. In the context of this anniversary in Spain and Portugal, various Roman Catholic dioceses organize devotional meetings and conferences.

In the Roman Catholic Diocese of Córdoba, from 10 to 13 June, a scientific conference was held entitled "Symbol: The Light of Nicaea" focusing on the personality of Osios of Córdoba  and an ecumenical worship gathering held in the famous Cathedral of Cordoba on 13 June.

The celebration was presided over by the Bishop emeritus of Córdoba, Demetrio Fernández, Bishop of Córdoba Jesús Fernández González being absent due to the sudden death of his father on the morning of that day. 

The Orthodox Church was represented by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Reformed Churches by the Anglican Communion and the Evangelical Church, while representatives of the Orthodox Patriarchates of Moscow and Romania were also present.

His Eminence, Our Most Reverend Pastor took part in this ecumenical worship gathering during which he offered as a gift and blessing of our Metropolis to the Cathedral of Cordoba a painted icon of the Saint Osios, Bishop of Córdoba, work of the hagiographer Andrii Babotenko.

At the end of the service, His Eminence spoke at the prompting of Monsignor Demetrio Fernández and conveyed the blessing and love of His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and referred to Saint Osios of Córdoba as the fruit and flower of the Holy Spirit.

Then, on Saturday, June 14, His Eminence went to Lisbon at the invitation of the Anglican Bishop Jorge Pina Cabral, Primate of the Lousitanian Church (Anglican Communion) and President of the Council of Christian Churches of Portugal, in order to participate in the aforementioned events for the Council of Nicea at the Lousitanian Cathedral of St.Paul.

His Eminence, together with R/C Patriarch Rui I of Lisbon and other Christian denominations, including the Orthodox representatives of the Patriarchates of Moscow and Romania, participated in the prayer during which the Patriarch of Lisbon gave the main speech and His Eminence, Our Most Reverend Bishop, gave the closing speech, referring to the semiotics of the Council, the Martyrdom and the Light of Christ.

He also referred extensively to the personality of Osios Bishop Cordoba as a saint of the Iberian Peninsula who was a key figure of the Council of Nicea.

Η Μητρόπολή μας προσεύχεται για την ανάπαυσης της ψυχής του μακαριστού μητροπολίτου Αγκύρας Ιερεμίου του από Γαλλίας (1988-2003) και Ελβετίας (2003-2018).

Ο μακαριστός υπήρξε ποιμενάρχης των χωρών της επαρχίας μας όταν ακόμα ήταν μέρος της Μητροπόλεως Γαλλίας πριν την αποκοπή της από αυτήν το 2003 και την ίδρυση της Μητροπόλεώς μας από την Μητέρα Εκκλησία.

Ο Ποιμενάρχης μας έτρεφε βαθύτατο σεβασμό για τον μακαριστό μητροπολίτη Ιερεμία καθότι διακόνησε την Ορθόδοξη κοινότητα της Άγκυρας κατά την διάρκεια της αρχιερατείας του μακαριστού μέχρι και της εκλογής αυτού (2018-2021) ως Μητροπολίτη Ισπανίας και Πορτογαλίας.

Ο μακαριστός διακρινόταν όχι μόνο για τον γλυκό τρόπο ψαλσίματος αλλά και για την γλυκύτητα της ψυχής του και την βαθειά του πίστη.    

Η μνήμη του να είναι αιωνία.

Nuestra Metrópolis reza por el descanso del alma del difunto Metropolita Ieremias de Ankara, de Francia (1988-2003) y de Suiza (2003-2018).

El difunto fue pastor de los países de nuestra Provincia cuando aún formaba parte de la Metrópolis de Francia antes de su separación de ésta en 2003 y del establecimiento de nuestra Metrópolis por la Madre Iglesia.

Nuestro Pastor sentía un profundo respeto por el difunto Metropolitano Ieremias porque sirvió a la comunidad ortodoxa de Ankara durante el primado del difunto hasta su elección (2018-2021) como Metropolitano de España y Portugal.

El difunto se distinguía no solo por su dulce forma de cantar, sino también por la dulzura de su alma y su profunda fe.   

Que su memoria sea eterna.

Our Metropolis prays for the repose of the soul of the late Metropolitan Ieremias of Ankara, of France (1988-2003) and Switzerland (2003-2018).

The late was pastor of the countries of our Province when it was still part of the Metropolis of France before its separation from it in 2003 and the establishment of our Metropolis by the Mother Church.

Our Pastor had a deep respect for the late Metropolitan Ieremias because he served the Orthodox community of Ankara during the primacy of the late until his election (2018-2021) as Metropolitan of Spain and Portugal.

The late was distinguished not only for his sweet way of chanting but also for the sweetness of his soul and his deep faith.   

May his memory be eternal.

Ποιμαντική Παρουσία Σεβασμιωτάτου
(Μ. Εβδομάδα και Πασχάλια Περίοδος)

Ο Σεβασμιώτατος Ποιμέναρχης μας , κατά την Αγία και Μεγάλη Εβδομάδα, προέστη των Ιερών ακολουθιών στον Καθεδρικό Ναό των Αγίων Ανδρέου και Δημητρίου Μαδρίτης σε κλίμα κατάνυξης και με την παρουσία πολυπληθούς, πολυεθνικού εκκλησιάσματος που παρά τις άστατες καιρικές συνθήκες, πλήρωσαν τόσο τον Ναό όσο και τον περίβολό του.  

Ιδιαιτέρως τιμητική ήταν η παρουσία της Εξοχ. Πρέσβεως της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας κας Αγλαΐας Μπαλτά  όπως και του Εξοχ. Πρέσβεως της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας Μιχάλη Ιωάννου μαζί με τους οικείους τους.

Το ιερό αναλόγιο διακονήσαν με αγάπη , όπως πάντα , φιλακόλουθοι νέοι  , ενορίτες του καθεδρικού , υπό την εμπνευσμένη καθοδήγηση του μουσικολ. κ. Ιωάννη Μεσσαλά εξ Ελλάδος ενώ η ορθόδοξη κοινότητα της Μαδρίτης πρωτοστάτησε στις ετοιμασίες για τον ευπρεπισμό του ναού καθ’ όλη την διάρκεια αυτής της περιόδου.

Την Κυριακή του Πάσχα, προσκεκλημένος του Αρχιεπισκόπου Μαδρίτης Σεβ. Καρδιναλίου José Cobo, μετέβη στον Ρ/Κ Καθεδρικό ναό της Santa Maria le Real de la Almudena της Μαδρίτης, όπου και παρέστη συμπροσευχόμενος στην Αναστάσιμη Θεία Λειτουργία. Με προτροπή του Σεβ. Καρδιναλίου ομίλησε επίκαιρα στο εκκλησίασμα μεταφέροντας τις αναστάσιμες ευχές της ΑΘΠ του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχου Βαρθολομαίου. 
Προ της απολύσεως προσέφερε στον Σεβ. Καρδινάλιο, ως πασχάλιο δώρο και επ’ ελπίδι του κοινού Ποτηρίου, μία εικόνα του Κυρίου μας Ιησού Χριστού, έργο του πρόσφυγα ουκρανού αγιογράφου Andrii Babotenko.  

Την Δευτέρα του Πασχα μετέβη στην ιστορική πόλη της Σεγόβια και τέλεσε την Θεία Λειτουργία στην προσφάτως παραχωρηθείσα Ρ/Κ εκκλησία της Θεοτόκου (Santa Maria de la Misericordia, 17^ος αι.) στην οποία διοργανώνεται η εκεί ορθόδοξος (βουλγαρόφωνη) ενορία τιμώμενη στο όνομα της Κυρίας Θεοτόκου της Ελεούσσης.

Μετά το πέρας της Θείας Λειτουργίας και με αφορμή του αγγέλματος της εκδημίας της Α.Α. του Πάπα Φραγκίσκου, επεσκέφθη τον Θεοφ. Ρ/Κ επίσκοπο της Σεγόβια Jesús Vidal όπου και τον εξέφρασε τα συλλυπητήριά του. 

Την Τρίτη του Πάσχα, ο Σεβασμιώτατος συνοδευόμενος από τον Πρωτοσύγκελό του πανοσιολ. αρχιμ. Θεοφύλακτο Βίτσο, επισκέφτηκε την Νουτσιατούρα της Μαδρίτης όπου υπέγραψε στο βιβλίο συλλυπητηρίων εις μνήμη του Πάπα Φραγκίσκου, μεταφέροντας τις  ευχές της Μητρός Εκκλησίας και ιδιαιτέρως της ΑΠΘ του Οικουμενικού μας Πατριάρχου.

Την Κυριακή του Θωμά βρέθηκε στην Βαρκελώνη όπου τέλεσε την Αναστάσιμη θεία λειτουργία στην ορθόδοξο ενορία του Αγίου Νεκταρίου και προ της απολύσεως χειροθέτησε  σε πρωτοπρεσβύτερο της Μητροπόλεώς μας τον π. Leonid Pavlyuk εφημέριο της ουκρανικής ενορίας του Αγ. Ανδρέου.

Την Κυριακή 18 Μαίου, ο Σεβασμιώτατος μετέβη στην Ποντιφική βασιλική του Αρχαγγέλου Μιχαήλ Μαδρίτης και παρέστη στην Θεία Λειτουργία του τελέστηκε με αφορμή την ενθρόνιση  της ΑΑ του Πάπα Λέοντος ΙΔ’ και την ολοκλήρωση της αποστολής του Εξοχ. Αποστολικού Νουντσίου Bernardito Auza στην Ισπανία και την Ανδρόρα, και προ της αναλήψεως της νέας του θέσης ως Αποστολικού Νουντσίου πάρα την Ε.Ε. και εκπροσωπήθηκε από τον Πανοσιολ. Πρωτοσύγκελό του στην αποχαιρετιστήρια δεξίωση που έλαβε την Δευτέρα 19 Μαΐου στην Νουντσιατούρα της Μαδρίτης.

Την 25^η Μαΐου, Κυριακή του Τυφλού τέλεσε την Θεία Λειτουργία στην Ορθόδοξο Ουκρανική ενορία του Αγίου Πρίγκηπα Βλαδίμηρου στην Μαδρίτη.

His Eminence, our Pastor, during Holy and Great Week, presided over the Holy Services at the Cathedral of Saints Andrew and Demetrios of Madrid in a climate of devotion and in the presence of a large, multi-ethnic congregation who, despite the unstable weather conditions, filled both the Church and its courtyard.  

The presence of Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic Mrs. Aglaia Balta, as well as His Exc. the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus Michael Ioannou together with their families, was particularly honourable.

The holy lectern was served with love, as always, by young people, parishioners of the cathedral, under the inspired guidance of the music director, Mr. John Messalas from Greece, while the Orthodox community of Madrid took the lead in the preparations for the decoration of the cathedral throughout this period.

On Easter Sunday, invited by His Emonence the Archbishop of Madrid, Cardinal José Cobo, went to the R/C Cathedral of Santa Maria le Real de la Almudena in Madrid, where he attended and prayed in the Easter Mass. At the urging of H.E. the Cardinal,  he spoke to the congregation, conveying the resurrectional blessings of H.A.H. the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Before the dismissal,  presented to the Cardinal, as an Easter gift and in the hope of the common Chalice, an icon of Our Lord Jesus Christ, work of the refugee Ukrainian hagiographer Andrii Babotenko.

On Easter Monday, he visited the historic city of Segovia and celebrated Mass in the recently granted R/C Church of the Virgin Mary (Santa Maria de la Misericordia, 17th century) in which the Orthodox (Bulgarian-speaking) parish there is organized in honor of Our Lady, the Eleoussa.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy and on the occasion of the Angelus of the demise of H.H. Pope Francis, he visited His Excelency the R/C bishop of Segovia Jesús Vidal, where he expressed his condolences.

On Easter Tuesday, accompanied by his chancellor, the most reverend Archimandrite Theophylactos Vitsos, visited the Nucciatura of Madrid where he signed the book of condolences in memory of H.H. Pope Francis, conveying the blessings of the Mother Church and especially of our Ecumenical Patriarch.

On the Sunday of Thomas, visited Barcelona where he celebrated the Easter Mass in the Orthodox parish of St.Nektarios and before the dismissal he ordained Fr. Leonid Pavlyuk, vicar of the Ukrainian parish of St.Andrew, as Protopresbyter of our Metropolis.

On Sunday, May 18, His Eminence went to the Pontifical Basilica of Archangel Michael of Madrid and attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated on the occasion of the enthronement of  H.H. Pope Leo XIV and the completion of the mission of His Excellency the Apostolic Nuncio to Spain and Andorra Mons. Bernardito Auza, and before assuming his new position as Apostolic Nuncio to the EU, and was represented by his most reverend chancellor,  at the farewell reception he received on Monday 19 May at the Nunciatura in Madrid.

On May 25, Sunday of the Blind, he celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Orthodox Ukrainian parish of St. Prince Vladimir in Madrid.
